Over the last month or so, I’ve been working on a series of new beach paintings and in particular a new semi-abstract artwork.
With this latest original painting, I've continued to explore the movement, dynamism and light of nature's elements as they change over time.
It is one of my most abstract paintings of the sea I have painted, with loaded flat brushes of rich oils applied in different ways. I've used texture and speed of the brushmarks to show nature's dynamism in the skies over the sea. Depicting the complex movements of air and the changing clouds. It suggests the constant universal motion seen and the beautiful changing sunlight over the sea.
You can also see I've also chosen contrasting colours. With airy blues and violets working against soft pinks and browns.
The painting's abstraction and its square profile lends the artwork a contemporary and minimal feel — ideal for placing within this kind of interior or where you'd like to add a modern touch to a room or office.
